Christ Denied/Bastard Saints - Split CD -

Macabre Momentos RecordsBastard Saints from Italy and Christ Denied from Japan... Great split!! Both play that new school death metal. It is nice to see that there are still some splits out there that don't have one good band and one crappy band on them. This has two good bands for the price of one,buy it.

Deranged - III - Listenable Records

Good deathgrind from Sweden. Pretty speedy the whole time with a few break downs. Actually this is one is the most brutal bands from outside of the US that I have heard in awhile. Well worth the effort to get this one.

ZFL - Looking Back - ZFL Mob Records

New school hardcore that packs a good punch from Maryland. I'm thinking Hatebreed crossed with Sheer Terror maybe. Real tough guy vocals and chugga chugga guitars always put a smile on my face. No politics here, songs about hate (always a plus). Watch out for these guys, might be the next big thing.

Cephalic Carnage - Exploiting Dysfunction

Relapse Records.

One of the best CDs I have ever heard. Self proclaimed "Rocky Mountain Hydrogrind" is perfect description they got extremely good death grind on here, but some weird atmospheric parts on here too. A good mix to keep things different, plus they rip no one off at all, they got their own thing going here. You will be listening to this a lot when you get it.

Tuatha de Danann - Heavy metal Records.

This was a surprise. I have never heard anything like this except maybe Amorphis' thing they did with the folk songs. I don't remember what it is called. What this sounds like is folk music with a metaledge to it or you could call it metal with a folk song edge to it from Brazil. The first time I listened to it, it was ok, but then it starts to grow on you, I can't tell you if you will like or not, but you will listen to it more then one, guaranteed.

Gore - Consumed by Slow Decay - Half Life

Records.

The name says it all. This is no frills gore grind from South America. Songs all about gore, nothing more. Think maybe Mortician type stuff but with a rougher sound easy to get into.

Larmbelastigung - Krach Propaganda

Compilation NO.7

Pretty good comp from Germany. Contains 21bands including Mortician, Pessimist, December Wolves, etc.. Best track is by Aborted. Mainly older style death metal. so if you are into this type, pick it up you wont be disappointed.

Brodequin - Insrtuments of Torture -

Self released

If this is what goes on in Tennesee, you want to be there. Gore grind, and it's real good. I saw these guys live and the CD is almost as good as hearing it live, that doesn't happen too often. I cant stop listening to this, at least half the CD at least everyday. You need this, now!

Caste - Self Released

Reminiscant of early Coalesce, less noisy, but just as chaotic. The production is perfect. Very catchy stuff here

Dying Fetus - Destroy The Opposition - Relapse Records

I thought I wouldn't like anything better than Purification Through Violence, but this one takes the cake. This band gets better every time they come out with something new. Well worth the money.

Deicide - Incineratehymn -

Everyone I know who is into this band does not like this one too much, but I like it more then anything else they offered before. It's slower than before but I think it's heavier and more chunky. Picture the old Deicide that you love so much and slow it down a bit and you got this.

Morbid Angel - Gateways To Anhilation

Personally I think this is their best offering. If they are going to be this heavy from now on they have a new listener. I guess they did the same thing as Deicide did by getting more brutal, if this is the new direction that deathmetal is going, it is good.

Noism - demo 2000 - Self Released

As time goes on these guys from Japan get better and better. I am more impressed with this offering than the promo CD-r (that wasn't that bad though). If deathgrind is your thing, be sure to pick it up.

Age Of Ruin - The Opium Dead -

Self Released

I saw these guys live before getting this and I was happy to discover that the demo does the band justice (it doesn't sound like shit). Being that they are from the DC/VA area, they got that evil Damnation a.d/Darkest Hour thing going on. I cant get enough of this. Well worth the while.
